With the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA), the European Commission has presented a draft law to regulate artificial intelligence (AI), which regulates the use of AI in research and industry based on risk categories and even prohibits it if the risk is unacceptable. The law affects providers and users of AI systems within the EU, even if they are based outside the EU, and provides for high penalties in the event of violations to strengthen protection against automated decision-making and ensure data sovereignty.
