Charlotte Haunhorst is Head of Digital and a member of the editorial board at Handelsblatt, Germany’s leading business newspaper. She oversees the newsroom’s digital strategy as well as the areas of podcasting, newsletters, data journalism, and audience development. A particular focus of her work lies in the integration of artificial intelligence into editorial processes and the question of how AI is changing the way journalism is researched, produced, and consumed.
Previously, she was Editor-in-Chief of jetzt.de, the youth magazine of Süddeutsche Zeitung, where she was responsible for its editorial direction and digital presence. Her professional path has consistently centered on the intersection of journalism and digital transformation.
Charlotte is a graduate of the German School of Journalism (DJS) in Munich and has more than ten years of experience working in digital newsrooms.
