Panel: Digital Forensics, AI and the Future of Crime
Dirk Labudde began his career in 2009 as a Professor of Bioinformatics at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences and, in 2014, founded Germany’s first bachelor’s degree program in “General and Digital Forensics,” to which he was also appointed professor in the same year. There, he heads the research group FoSIL (Forensic Science Investigation Lab), which deals with a wide range of forensic questions. Since 2017, he has also been the head of the Fraunhofer Academy's Learning Lab Cybersecurity. He initially studied Theoretical and Medical Physics at the University of Rostock and received his PhD in Theoretical Physics in 1997. Prof. Labudde also works as an expert witness in court and as an advisor to police authorities and public prosecutors.
