Panel: Launch or Lose – Europe’s Race for Space Access
Dr. Jens Franzeck graduated as an engineer from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and holds a PhD in process engineering from the University of Stuttgart. He worked as a research fellow at ETH Zürich and MIT/Boston. His career started as an advanced-studies engineer at Mercedes-Benz, and in 1998 he joined the Daimler-Benz Group’s aerospace division, DASA. In 2002, he became head of Cabin Procurement for Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft Division, followed by the programme leadership for long-haul aircraft (cabin and fuselage) in 2005. In 2009, he went on to manage the Ariane 5 production programme in the Space Division of Airbus, and later on all industrial operations for Airbus Defence and Space’s space activities. In 2015, he took charge of the A400M military transport aircraft operations, and then managed engineering integration in 2017, before becoming head of physical design engineering in 2020. He joined ArianeGroup as Chief Industrial Officer in charge of industrial operations and supply chain of the company in 2024.
