Dr. Klaus Michel is Managing Director at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH since 2026.
Since joining Airbus in 2019, Klaus Michel has held a variety of leadership positions. In these roles, he has been responsible for marketing, sales and portfolio management.
He began his career at Jena-Optronik, where he contributed in operational leadership roles to the successful positioning of the company in the field of optical sensors for space application. At Tesat-Spacecom, a globally recognized market leader in communication equipment, he was responsible for marketing, sales and strategy.
Klaus Michel holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in optoelectronics from the University of Rostock.
