Marco Herre

Marco Herre is a German executive and has been CEO of DEUTZ Defense, the security and defence division of DEUTZ AG, since 2025.

Herre was born in Freiberg and studied business administration and international management at the University of Magdeburg and Macquarie University in Sydney. He began his professional career in corporate and investment banking at Société Générale before taking on various management roles at Volkswagen Financial Services.

Since joining DEUTZ in 2018, Herre has held several senior positions. In these roles, he was responsible in particular for product strategy, digital sales and service concepts, and the further development of international business models.

With the establishment of DEUTZ Defense Systems GmbH in 2025, Herre took over as Managing Director and has since been driving the expansion of the defence segment, particularly in the areas of propulsion systems, power supply and unmanned systems.
