Startup Slam Round 1 - Quantum Tech
Marius Grundmann earned his doctorate in experimental physics from Technical University Berlin in 1991. After a post-doc in the USA at Bellcore, he focused on self-organized, epitaxial III-V semiconductor quantum dot arrays and devices. Since 2000, he is Professor of Semiconductor Physics at the University of Leipzig, researching wide and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors in heterostructures, thin film devices and quantum systems. He leads collaborative research projects and excellence projects. He served as Director of the Felix Bloch Institute for Solid State Physics for two decades and Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Earth System Sciences at Leipzig University. Grundmann has published close to 700 international, peer-reviewed papers and received several awards. He is a member of the Senate of the German Research Foundation and co-founder and CEO of SaxonQ GmbH, which develops quantum computer hardware and software based on diamond technology.
