Dr. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten is Board Member for Digitalisation & Technology at Deutsche Bahn. Together with a cross-functional team, she is responsible for improving punctuality and reliability. At the same time, she is driving forward the topics of digitalisation, technical innovation and AI - important levers for stabilising operations and making Deutsche Bahn the most popular and sustainable mode of transport.
Daniela Gerd tom Markotten studied industrial engineering and obtained her doctorate in IT security, combining two passions: IT and technology. She held various positions in IT, logistics and production at Daimler AG, including CEO of "Daimler Fleetboard Management" as well as Head of "Digital Solutions & Services" at Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
In 2017, she became CEO of moovel, a mobility joint venture of the BMW Group and Daimler AG. In mid-2020, she founded a tech startup, which is developing AI/AR-powered video calls for premium customer support. In 2021, Daniela Gerd tom Markotten joined Deutsche Bahn as board member.
