Since their foundation in 2017 and their first performance on the occasion of the opening ceremonies of the Carmen Würth Forum, the Würth Philharmoniker as the Orchestra in Residence there have convinced the audience with a broad repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary compositions. The orchestra is another milestone in the Würth Group's cultural commitment alongside its art activities. Claudio Vandelli has been the principal conductor of the Würth Philharmoniker since 2020.
With their powerful sound and nuanced interpretations, the Würth Philharmoniker bring music of exceptional quality to their home region of Hohenlohe, making them unique as a professional symphony orchestra in the region. In their still young biography, they have quickly earned an excellent reputation, and each season they welcome numerous renowned artists to the podium and stage in Künzelsau.
The Würth Philharmoniker also make international appearances at guest performances in major concert halls around the world. They have performed at venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, London's Cadogan Hall, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the concert hall of the Ateneul Român at the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest, the Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Liederhalle Stuttgart.
In the 2024/25 season, the Würth Philharmoniker will once again present major concerts at the Carmen Würth Forum with internationally renowned soloists. Among others, it has been possible to engage Yefim Bronfman, Piotr Beczała, Sondra Radvanovsky, Jan Vogler, Mari Kodama, Elīna Garanča, and Martin Helmchen. Additionally, there will be a reunion with Veronika Eberle, Thomas Hampson, and Rudolf Buchbinder. Besides principal conductor Claudio Vandelli, other renowned guest conductors frequently take the podium of the Würth Philharmoniker, including Christoph Koncz, Karel Mark Chichon, as well as Gaetano d’Espinosa, Kent Nagano, Kristjan Järvi, and principal guest conductor Martin Panteleev.
Furthermore, in the 2024/25 season, the Würth Philharmoniker have already performed at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and with two New Year's concerts at the Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg.
The Reinhold Würth Music Foundation owns several historically significant instruments, particularly the violin „Ex Ries” from 1693 by the Italian master violin maker Antonio Stradivari, which has been played by Veronika Eberle since 2020. Additionally, a violin by Giovanni Battista Gabrielli from 1770, currently loaned to the Russian violinist Ksenia Dubrovskaya, and a violin by Tommaso Balestrieri, Mantua circa 1783-85, played by the concertmaster of the Würth Philharmoniker, Catalin Desaga.
